Terms

These terms apply when you buy editing, publication support, coaching or tutoring from Pen of Wonder Research, the research service of Pen of Wonder Consults, a registered business name in Nigeria. Please read them before you pay. If anything here is unclear, ask me first.

The service

I provide editing, publication support and analysis support for researchers and firms, and coaching and tutoring for students. All work follows the Academic Integrity Policy, which forms part of these terms. I will turn down, or stop, any work that would break it.

Quotes

Editing and publication support are quoted after the free one-page review. A quote sets out the work, the price and the delivery date. It is valid for 14 days.

Coaching and tutoring are charged at the prices on the coaching page.

Payment

• In pounds sterling: through Raenest or Grey.
• In naira: by bank transfer, for clients in Nigeria.

Payment details come with your quote or booking confirmation.

Editing and publication support: 60% of the quoted price is paid before work starts. The remaining 40% is paid in two instalments of 20% at points we agree in the quote, the last on delivery of the final work.

Coaching and tutoring: single sessions are paid before the session. Packs are paid in full before the first session.

Work starts when the first payment has been received.

Revisions

For editing and publication support, the quote includes one round of follow-up on my edits, within 14 days of delivery, at no extra cost. Changes that go beyond the original quote, such as a new section or a substantially rewritten draft, are quoted separately.

Your responsibilities

• You are the author of your work and responsible for its content, data and conclusions.
• You confirm you have the right to share the material you send me.
• You follow the rules of your university, employer or journal.

Confidentiality

I keep your manuscripts, data and correspondence confidential. I don’t share them, don’t name clients, and don’t use your work as an example without your written permission. Files are deleted when the work is finished unless you ask me to keep them.

Acceptance and outcomes

I make the work as strong as I can, but no one can guarantee that a journal will accept a paper or that a student will get a particular mark. Payment is for the work done, not for an outcome.

Cancellations and refunds

• Tutoring sessions: you can reschedule free of charge with at least 24 hours’ notice. A session cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed, counts as used. If I have to cancel a session, you can choose a new time or a refund for that session.
• Packs: sessions in a pack must be used within the period stated on the coaching page. Unused sessions are not refunded once that period ends.
• Editing and publication support: you can cancel at any time. You pay for the work done up to the point you cancel; if your payments so far come to more than that, I refund the difference.

Liability

My total liability for any claim connected with a piece of work is limited to the amount you paid for that work.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you are a consumer living in the UK, nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under UK consumer law.
